The National Year of Reading in Australia is 2012.
Discover and re-discover the joy of reading.
An initiative of Libraries and Library Associations across Australia.
All around Australia, participating libraries, bookshops, clubs, societies and schools will be promoting reading for both young and old. If you haven’t read a book in years, now is the time to start again!
If you don’t know what’s hot in reading right now, check out our homepage blog, click on the categories on the left (includes “Starter Reads!”) and subscribe for email updates (see right).
Your local council will be able to advise you of the address of your local public library.

I’m proudly promoting & honoured to be a Friend of the National Year of Reading.
