The Reading Hour today

An hour a day, it’s children’s play!

Launching the official Reading Hour today, there’s has never been a better time to re-discover and share the importance of reading.

The Reading Hour wants you to learn and experience the joy of reading. Lack of literacy is a problem worldwide, and Australia is not immune. Close to half of Australia’s population doesn’t have the literacy skills required to perform to their full potential.

Whilst The Reading Hour is focussed on children’s literacy, it also invites the young at heart to learn to read, or re-discover reading.

Acknowledging many people’s busy schedules, the Reading Hour aims for you to read for just 10 minutes a day to build up literacy skills. Improved literacy skills can heighten stamina, booster confidence, and increase productivity.

Never liked fiction? Try your hand at reading comic, magazines or biographies.

If you have a story to share about reading, you are invited to share it with the nation through Love2ReadTV. Find out more at www.love2readtv.com.au
